Hilton Hotels launch automated daily data feed to STR Global
Published: 10/07/2008
Following the successful roll-out of their proprietary property management system (OnQ) to all hotels in the UK, Hilton has launched the first of many projects to harness the benefits OnQ will bring them - an automated data feed to populate STR Global's daily service: The Bench, and in doing so, Hilton are the first hotel company to implement this.
The system updates the figures for Room Revenue, Sold Rooms and Comp Rooms figures into STR Global on a daily basis. This is made possible by the OnQ system which brings to the hotel group a greater availability of data both on and above property.
The feed contains financially audited data which complies with both the Hilton and STR Global business rules for calculating Sold Rooms and Comp Rooms and includes a rolling 40 days of historical data to ensure that any audit changes to the data are accurately reflected in STR Global.
Other key advantages of the new automated feed include:
- A significant reduction in administration time as figures will only need to be checked rather than manually uploaded and then checked; any need for availability adjustments can be loaded if required.
- A guarantee of consistency in reporting to meet the stringent business rules adopted by both Hilton and STR Global.
- The facility for automatic correction of 40 days of historical figures to reflect any changes in data.
Most importantly the combination of the OnQ Property Management System and the automated feed ensures that all Hilton data is published in a timely fashion. This facilitates the subsequent completion of all Hilton Competitor Set reporting, which in turn ensures that Hilton gains maximum benefit from the benchmarking data STR Global uniquely provides.
